How do architectural surfaces communicate with people? The plaza space in front of 28 Liberty Street was reinterpreted with new technology to change the way we see buildings as mediums of communication. The surface of the building is composed of 2’x2’ led panels. These mini screens are attached to mechanical arms that can extend the screen out from the surface, enhancing the images being displayed. Buildings will have another degree in which to communicate with people in the city. Realtime information flows from the building, connecting with the millions of people that walk by it everyday. An animated hologram populates the circular cut out from the two story elevated plaza and works in coordination with the skyscrapers surface to create a completely unique and changing environment.
